Goose hunting, keep the 10 gauge or get a 12 gauge 3 1/2 inch better shotgun?

I hunt goose with a browning BPS 10 gauge.

Should I sell and get a semi auto 12 gauge 3 1/2 inch benelli SBE2 instead?

Does the 10 gauge have significantly more firepower ?

You are a much tougher man than I using a 10ga BPS. Only two guns ever beat me up and that was one of them
IMO Would I keep the 10ga if you have a semi YES. If not I would get one in 10ga
10ga vs 12 31/2 is not the same for any pass or long range shooting and yes I have a fair collection of both to compare and have against each other
Cheers

Never needed more than a 3" 12ga to be successful on geese. Seems a bit of overkill............ then again I am field hunting w/ decoys , my opinion would probably change if pass shooting

Before you decide give us some back ground. are you killing honkers over decoys at 15 yards? Are you shooting lesser? Giants? Pass shooting? Looking for just a little more range then your buddies? Wanna stretch the shots?
Honestly a twenty gauge will kill the biggest Canada's there are providing they are within an acceptable range for that firearm. I picked up a 10 last year for specific purpose's, snows (longer range) and big Canada's over water and maybe some divers. All because of the longer range a 10 offers. gotta figure out what you need or want and go with it, I didn't need a 10, I wanted one and its a hoot

If your swinging the 10 Gauge and it is working why change a Good Thing ?
If your thinking of a 12 gauge in three and a half over a three inch 12 gauge the cost associated
with the gun will not likely make and improvements to your shooting.
The store keeper and ammo manufacturer will tell you otherwise , but again why fix something if it aint broke?
When I had my BPS in 10 Gauge and was using it for pass shooting Snows and Canada's in the marsh it was a bear to wrestle with slogging through the mud...just my humble experience/opinion this morning.
BTW Gold for Team Canada this morning, Congrats !!!!!
Best Regards,
Rob
