Been carrowsing our Peavy Mart Spring Catalogue and in it is a gopher caller.
Mentions that this gizmo will extend the extermination of shooting gophers
for hours even during non feeding hours.

Anyone use or try this tweeter out?
Curious to know weather it's worth whethering.
Going to hit $30 with taxes.

Last time out, well my buddy can't hear them and I can't see'im.
Grass was a tad long.
Every time I tern to move away, one wisthals.
I tern back and shush.
Tern, wisthals, tern back.......shhhhhh.
PMO.
Tawt I'd arm meself and whistle the whistler................

It's $30 looky...... Watch out for moths when you open that billfold of yours....... :)

Seriously though.... The best call for gophers is the sound of folding up a lawn hair and zipping up a gun case in my experience......

You can call gopher yourself. Blade of grass is one way but you really don't need it. That noise they make is easy to mimic and once you figure out how to do it they stand up and look for buddy.

What about a bic pen lid the cheapo kind with the solid colour they work or you can try and empty .22 shell and blow over it.

Ive used one of those gopher calls that are camo pen lookin things and it seems to get them to pop up just a little bit more then without, but they were like 18 bucks a couple years ago. 30 might be to much for me to spend on one now.

They do work well... Sure have come up in price though. Bought mine for 14.99 a while ago, thought it was overpriced then. The empty 17hmr shell makes almost the same sound though. And if you forget your call, you can just shoot the first one and then pick it up and go.

Columbian (I assume, being in T'kemlups) or Richardson ground squirrel?

They make totally different noises.

The Richardsons are very easy to copy with a tongue whistle.

For the Columbians, I've found "whistle stick" popsicles years ago that are perfect.

Kamlooky, dont waste your money on the Peavy Mart call. I have that one and paid waay to much for it. For $1.25 you can buy a pack of straws that sound better and louder for a fraction of the price. Many many sask gophers have fallen to the sound of a simple party straw lol.
