I picked this one up at Cabelas and it's actually pretty good. I had it set out at 100 yards or so (left my range finder at home) and was messing around with it in the wind. It's fun using my Sako Quad with CCI Quiets at that range.

yeah, they're pretty fun...we have one that we take out a few times a year. My (local) range area is a bit sandy though, so the stake doesn't do much. I've stopped short of screwing it down to a piece of 2x4...but that would solve it.

Curious on the size... Is it the larger American black tailed, or smaller Canadian Richardson Ground Squirrel?

I find most of the targets are the larger, American gophers.

Depending on where you are, "gopher" can be any of about a half dozen different species. They all look the same in a picture, but size can vary fairly significantly.

They are bigger than most gophers around here, they are about 9 inches tall iirc. Mine are now shaped like cups after a couple afternoons of the boys shooting at them, and don't reset as well as they did when they were new. Didn't last very long but still fun.

I got the set of three. After one afternoon they were pretty beat up but still fun. I had three kids shooting at them and they went through about a box and a half of a AutoMatch on them at about 30 yards.

These things are great fun.
