Got A 10/22t!

It's always a good day when a new gun comes home. I have had my new "T" out a couple of times and I am really enjoying it I mean really. I am not sure which I like better as a gopher gun the "T" or my 917v. But after a couple of 500 round weekends with the HMR last year something had to change so for me buying the "T" was a cost saving measure :), something fun for those <75 yard shots.

What is it like using a red dot in a gopher field, does the dot ever get too big inside practical shooting range <100 yards

congrats!!!

All you need now is a bolt buffer and hammer and Im sure you'll be happy with it.
also may I suggest you make yourself an "auto bolt release" (tips n tricks), very simple and pratical.

have fun sighting her in;)

I'm still waiting for mine to arrive. I ordered it from Wholesale sports. A buddy of mine has the 10/22T. It's very nice. I went for the stainless steel K10/22T.
Now if it will only show up.

I ordered a Ruger MKIII Hunter and they sent me the wrong one. They charged me the right price, and then sent me a normal blued one, and now they are out of stock. GRRR. Oh well.

Horrible accuracy you are getting with that point sight! Put a scope on that rifle and you'll soon see what it can really do. I tricked mine with VQ trigger, hammer, etc and put a Taxco 2.5-10x42mm Mildot AO, and regularly take gophers at 125M + with it......it'll put 10 on a dime at 50M with the scope.....

As to the accuracy... I see the barrel may be touching the stock at the forend in your picture. 22's (and others) are sensitive to barrel vibrations. Get a pack of sander tubes about the same dia. as the barrel in 80 grit or so. They are for those drum sanders that go up and down. Work on the barrel channel to give at least a paper dollar clearance all the way to the action. Seal the wood with some sort of clear. Put on a real scope. Post the results.

I over reacted to a binary existence - I didn;t realize my rifle was more accurate than it really is. I thought I was being insulted when in fact I was being told the truth.

long story short I spend too much time on the net and sometimes I get confused when neurons are bathing in rye while I scour the net for gun info.

sometimes I feel like smashing stacks. or pulling out my packet gatlin gun.

don;t worry I'll never do that here :) - the mods are ARMED!!! (and they have my IP ;) )

Dude you got to learn to chillax a little.;)
We only commented that the groups you posted sucked, not that your rifle sucked. no one implied that you or your rifle couldn't shoot!!! If you had a decent scope you would have decent groups. It's all about using the right tool for the right job. You seemed real happy with the perfomance of your gun and we only wanted to give you a heads up that it can do alot better.

Here's a couple pics I took yesterday morning after a trip to the range, (testing out ammo). Believe me or not, I am not satisfied at all with these results and believe I can do better.

5 shot group @ 50 yards

25 shot group @ 50 yards

50 shots (empty mags as fast as possible, aka rapid fire) @ 50 yards

If you bought yourself a 10/22T chance's are you wanted a gun that can shoot. we are all in the same boat here, learning off each other, on a quest..... for the ultimate in rimfire accuracy;)

Not bad, not bad at all!

Blah!

I must admit those were the better of the bunch, I am not completely satisfied with my results at the end of the day, I had a couple flyer's on some of my other groups (considering my mods, this shouldn't be). Was it the ammo? was it the shooter? I dunno, I still got lots more ammo to test, and I'll only be happy when then rifle shoots consistently "1 hole" groups;)
