Just waiting for it to come in.
It's the cabelas special savage 93r17. Thumb hole stock, factory installed and bore sighted bushnell scope.
Scope is likely garbage, but it was an extra 20 bucks vs the standard thumb hole stock 93r17.

Am definitely excited to get it out to my local range and sight this thing in, have heard nothing but good about the rifle and caliber.

Anybody have any must do/know tips/tricks/mods to make the rifle everything it can be?

keep an eye on the wind when you start reaching out +100 yards... drift is less than .22lr, but still significant. Try different ammo and bullets. My CZ seems to like the hornady vmax best and shoots winchester 20gr like a shotgun- but every gun is different. I love the hmr- it is a little laser and it is fun watching the bullet impacts.

You will probably need a box or two of ammo through it before you start seeing the best accuracy- but maybe you got lucky and have a shooter right out of the box. My rifle started out disappointing and now is much better with a few hundred rounds down the tube.

.17 holes at any distance are really small... hopefully your scope has some mag.

I bought the marlin xt-17. Shoots great but holy crap it the ammo going up for it.. I picked up 10 boxes at walmart for 13.78 per box. So far cheapest that i found.. Most on line is $14+ wich is crazy..Im waitinng for prophet to get more suply of their 9.99 winchester ammo. I hope I can get 1000rds for that price.

Dad has the same gun. So nice to shoot! First thumbhole I ever tried and it's comfy. I just got my own.17 and it's a CZ. Super accurate I don't think you will regret it. It's like a .22 but WAY better. I don't think I'll try it on a any bigger game than I would with a .22 but I will shoot farther that's for sure. Dad shot a yote with his .17 but other buddies have also tried with poor results. I would shoot at a yote only within 100yds with my .17 that's my opinion. Way more expensive than .22 ammo but that's ok you won't need as much! Have fun and yes, holes are very small. Hard to see
