The last piece of the puzzle just felt in place, just secured a DPMS Panther D.I 308 LR AR, i was strongly advised to go the direct impingement for an accurate 308, this is not in the top one, but they have a good record and reviews show that they are accurate.... Now if that RPAL can show up, i will start rocking... JP.

I guess, it's gonna be hard not to mount a Hilux 1X4X24 CMR green ( still got 4 brand new in box), actually this could be my all time favorite scope, i think it will fit just great with this flat top AR, it do a great job on everything i mount it to... JP.

Very nice, nice reticle design too. I got a DPMS Oracle earlier this year and put on a holographic with flip-to-side 8X magnifier. I just got that damned ATT, so now a little "break-in" time at the range on nice days. Hope to do some CQB this coming spring as a newbie.

In solved the problem since they are so affordable at Costco... I actually have 4 safes in 3 houses, and it is not impossible i get a fifth one before the end of the winter du to my restricteds coming home... JP.
 
Sweet rifle! Man that would make some nice deer rifle. Wish we could hunt with AR's I'd get another in .308 for sure.
Who carries the hilux scopes? I've heard good things about them. whats a fair price on one? I've been looking for a 1-4 but I can't find anything locally.
 
Wolverine have them in stock, at 400.00 + the works, i think they are well worth, they have one of the clearest lens and a super reticule, i have them mounted on 7 rifles now and still have 4 news in box for future restricteds to come, i think i could live all my life from now on with two make of scopes... Sightron and Hilux CMR, CMR-AK ( good for the 30-30)... JP.

There will likely be two things needed though. 1) stock DPMS trigger is crap. Any good AR15 trigger will drop in. 2) Free float hanguard will increase accuracy.

I like the Hi-lux as well. My only concern is the eye relief. You have a 308 carbine there. Not 223. I have two hilux on 5.56 AR rifles. Also with the out of box setup I'd probably go Eotech if keeping that rifle as a fairly stock carbine.

Mounting options. For price, quality and weight I like the ADM mount. Burris will do but the ADM is nicer and I switched to it on the AR15 for smaller scopes due to weight and looks. ADM recon (two quick release latches) at regular height should be a near perfect combo. I went with the scout model one QR latch but I'd recommend the two QR latched for 308 rifles due to the extra recoil.
 
Got some nice targets from a DPMS 308 Oracle, like the one i ordered, 100 yards groups are very good, i am looking forward to shoot it... JP.
