Got A Lil Accessory For My Pistol Today....

Nice sig, nice can (bit long though)

So once you own it, theres no restrictions right? F/A guns and cans...you can chuck em in ur car and go to the range or the woods no prob/no questions asked? Is there a permit or something u need to carry?

That is correct-ish. As long as its not private property or I have permission to be on said property then its perfectly legal for me to shoot. In the states there isn't a restricted and unrestricted like in canada.... its more of a civilian or non civilian. If you can buy it over the counter you can use it pretty much anywhere shooting is legal to do, at least in my state. But suppressors arent exactly over the counter items like the sig. I had to do some paperwork and pay 200 to the ATF every time I want to buy a suppressor or a full auto. But if I can buy a pistol (same background check) I can buy a suppressor or full auto, it just takes 4 to 6 weeks for the paperwork to clear, whereas when I go buy a pistol it takes me 10 minutes, most of that time is filling out a piece of paper and waiting for the credit card machine to approve the transaction. I dont need any paperwork to carry the pistol in a case or in an unaccessible area of my car. I dont have to lock the pistol either, it just has to be unloaded. Loaded mag in the case with the pistol is legal for everyone who can buy a firearm. I have a CCW so I can have a loaded pistol (not chambered) with me at all times. But my state is an open carry state so from what I understand I could mow my yard with a pistol strapped to my hip and its perfectly legal to do so. I can have a gun in the car as long as its in plain view, ie on the dashboard etc. I do how ever have to carry a special piece of paper that says Im the legal owner of the suppressor. Copies are acceptable so I have a copy in each car along with my range bag and a few extra at my house and my offices, just in case. Its also perfectly legal to hunt with a suppressor as well in my state.... not just during the day but at night as well. I dont claim to know the laws in and out but I do know a few things I've been told/read about. After living in vancouver I've adopted your strict gun laws and policies and still practice them here in the states, why? Simply because shooting and gun collecting is a hobby for me and I enjoy it very much. I want to do it responsibly and safely first and foremost. But there are alot of people that do not practice what I call common sense shooting so I pick my shooting friends to avoid accidents and try to inform people of dos and donts without trying to come across as a prick/over concerned owner ya know?

Hope that answers most of the questions.... if you need clarification on anything feel free to ask.
