Got a new SVT

Lever Arms has the "Hand Select" option at extra charge which I was willing to pay for. :)

Oh well, do I NEED another SVT; no.... want maybe...yes !

Yes, most shops aren't very interested in dealing with picky milsurp buyers. Understandably so. You need to pick your spots and try not to annoy anyone who has something you want. I know from experience ;)

I was going to say something similar. Think about the sks... they can't make much money per gun but some guys want to look through the whole crate... tossing around greased up guns... one gun store clerk went so far as to say they are more trouble than they are worth.
Same on the EE. Sell an sks and guys want extra pictures... then make you and offer... then want shipping included... all for $200. Not worth the time.

Easy peasy rifle to break down, I've heard a lot of people rant about them being difficult however I call BS on it, I've owned a number of them. I used degreaser on a mosin I had full of cosmoline, and have used a heat gun being very careful, take all the wood off so as not to ruin the varnish.

I agree, they are not that big of a deal but there are a lot of little tight spots that can collect corrosive primer salts so you have to be more rigorous with the cleaning.

I think these rifles around going to be shooting through the roof in value in the coming years so you don't want them corroding up. Just my opinion.

I tried to order a svt from lever arms and when I click to shipping method, it is saying non is available to Toronto.!!!! what is up with that.

Just got lucky on a new to me Podolsk SVT, not from Lever Arms and a lot less expensive, no cracks or repairs, no rust but the guy polished the bolt (ouch!).

I heard wrapping any cosmoline soaked gun in a black garbage bag and leaving it in the hot sun for a few hours helps alot , but that kind of weather is hard to come by this time of year lol

Got mine as well. Gun turned out to be fine, but the worst shipping job I've ever seen from a business. Loose newspaper and an oversized box caused the barrel to be protruding from the box. No styrofoam or plastic bubble wrap to be seen. Needless to say, the post office called me and said I need to pick it up in person. Not impressed with Lever Arms. I bought another gun from a member on this site and he packed it like Fort Knox.

How much profit do you think is in the donut and coffee at Tim's? Not enough to justify washing their hands after going to the crapper I would say. There may not be all that much money in a Mosin or SKS but the employee is getting paid in any case. How much profit is there in a customer walking out the door with nothing? There are two LGS that I won't set foot in because they treat customers like crap. I don't need anything they are selling; I already have lots of guns.

Ditto... Like my last picture post here; spent my hard earn money else where.
