Someone mentioned on another thread somewhere not to use non-jacketed .38 Spcl with the compensator on due to leading. I can't for the life of me remember where I read it but it is true!

Do not shoot non-jacketed .38 Spcl through it with the compensator on......Unless you really enjoy spending hours cleaning your muzzle and compensator from all of the lead collected there. Not sure if .357 non-jacketed will be the same as I was using .357 FMJ, but I suspect it probably would be. I looked at the muzzle cap and I think it might be the same. So if you plan on shooting non-jacketed bullets in this revolver I would Highly suggest not using the compensator or the muzzle cap while doing so.

It is, however, a very nice shooting revolver with the compensator on!

Very nice gun to shoot. Going to Bullseye night this evening to see if I can hit the wall @ 20yd. lol

I have the 627 V-Comp and don't see any problems shooting lead projectiles with the muzzle cap on. I wouldn't use the compensator since it would be a pain to clean though. The comp will only see jacketed ammo obviously.
 
Not so obvious. lol Otherwise I would have saved myself a few hours last night. What is it about the compensator that causes that bad leading? Does the muzzle cap lead up as well?

At least on the V-Comp you can remove the compensator, same with the X-frames, now try cleaning lead out of the porting and expansion chamber of a Raging Bull, now that is a pain in the ass.
