I have a few...but this one is different. 22LR/20 witth he hammer selector. First, the break lever isn't a lever, it's a button built into the front of the trigger guard (kinda like the 70's remington singles), secondly, it's engraved with the animal scenes on the (blued) reciever, but there is no model designation written anywhere on the gun (Savage 24C, etc), and thirdly,, the stock is monte carlo....and black...well, a very, very dark green. might as well be black. Not synthetic though, definitely hardwood. anybody have any info on the gun ?

I've got a 24C that was purchased in '80 or '81 and it has the "break" button in the front of the trigger guard as well. Does yours have the trap door in the butt to store extra ammo?

There is a site " Savage24.com " that may be able to help. I think there were a number of old manuals or ads that may even have yous listed.

WrongWay, your gun was made in August of 1987.

Sorry I don't have my catalogs with me to open up the 1987 catalog and see what model were talking about.

Could be a DL if it's engraved and I'm not to sure about the stock, can't remember ever seeing one with a black hardwood stock but I have seen the synthetics.

Wondering also if it may be a 24T (turkey) but I thought they were all 12 ga only, this would be alot easier if my catalogs were here, when I get to them I'll let you know for sure.
