EDIT: Sorry, should have left the manufacturer out of it. Definitely seems like a mag problem.

Hi everyone!

I just got an AR. I ended up just buying some cheap magazine for it from the same store.
I am not sure what the problem is but this is what happens:
I'll load it up with 5 rounds.
I load it up and take the first shot.
I take a second shot. click. no bang.
I have to manually pull the bolt release back to pull in another round.
Every single time.

Do you think its a problem with the AR itself? magazine? ammo?
I tried with two different types of ammo, it happened with both.
Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

Where were you shooting?

You should have tested the magazine in another AR at the range or tested someone else's magazine in your NEA.

At least thats what I would of done if I dropped all that cash on a rifle and it was malfunctioning.

Just use a usgi mag or the new Acs lar 10rd pistol mag.
Did you try all the mags you got with the gun?
What about the mag that came with the gun?
How well does the one fired round eject, dos the caseing eject at a strong 3 o,clock

More info.

I'm with Claven on the Pmags, have dozens, and never yet had a problem in multiple ARs.

With regard to your current issue, can you be a little more specific?

Does the action cycle when the rifle fires, or do you have to manually cycle it to eject the fired case?

Does the BCG lock back after each shot? Does it lock back on an empty mag?

Does it cycle without any feeding or ejection issues when cycled manually?

Anything else you can think of?

Regards.
