I shoot a Beretta Silver Pigeon V and love it. I will agree that I am a little worried about scratching it up but I guess its still a field gun (as all Silver Pigeons are).
I like the nickel recievers, but wanted something different so I upgraded to the V with the case colour reciever and gold inlays. In the end though, same solid 686/687 reciever.
I have a buddy with a Silver Pigeon S and he beats the crap out of it but there isn't anything that moves that he can't hit with that gun. Its seen more game than most 50 years old guns and she's only a few years old.
Good purchase my friend, I hope you enjoy it.
