and started stippling away! Love how everything feels now, was reluctant at first but everything turned out okay. Wished I did it sooner. Next up my Glock 17. :)

I was cringing when I opened this thread worried that I'd see another abomination--but that's top-notch work! The M&P looks like it should've come from the factory that way--it's true stippling, like you'd see on fine wood grips or rifle stocks, not pockmarking, like you often see with an over-aggressive soldering-iron job. Well done!

Not my cup of tea as far as the shotgun goes (too much) but the work certainly is top notch. If you didn't know it you would assume it came from the factory that way. Good job.

Wow, thanks for all the kind comments! Not bad for a first attempt at it. :)

I agree, I've seen some jobs even ones that people actually pay for look too "holey" for my liking. I just wanted more aggressive feel without changing the look drastically. Will see how my glock 17 turns out. Want round of the front portion of the grip and get rid of the finger grooves and make it fit more like a M&P in the hands.

I just did the grip reduction. Its in another thread but I did silicon carbide for texture

I have to say when I read your title my reaction was 'Oh no here goes another ruined gun!" but it's not bad at all! What you did on M&P blends nicely with the factory texture pattern, I'm guessing you used it as a paintbrush instead of poking holes like most do lol

Only tool I used was a soldering iron with pointy tip and quick random taps. Went over it a few time and got this pattern.

G17 - work in progress.

Contoured front strap, glocks feels to boxy in my hands. Shaved down finger groves especially at the edges.

A few places need to be touched up before the glock project is finished. Will straight out the lines a bit and go over it a few times to give more of a random pattern. Here is how it looks right now. I find the stippling on the Gen 4s are pretty good just the front grip is a bit bulky. After sanding down the edges and finger groves it feels way better!
