Finally got some cash together an picked up my first shotgun, a Maverick 88 Combo kit from the good guys at Chilliwack Dart and Tackle. Now to start ordering up pieces to turn her into a home defending, zombie killing, pumpkin crushing, slug chuckin' boomer! Any tips or tricks regarding these would be appreciated. Thinking of an ATI folding stock, sidesaddle, fibre optic front sight, flash light, new foregrip...

Just leave it as is. It's a perfectly serviceable shotgun as is.

Well you're no fun, for the price i paid for this it seems a disservice not to throw a couple of hundred bucks worth of parts on it! Of all my firearms this is my small block chevy, begging to be stripped and re-built with some parts that have no real purpose or improvement on factory pieces(like a chrome air cleaner housing), in fact i think i may get a heatshield and get it nickle plated just because i can, and some parts that do improve it. Its gonna be my 'fun gun'!

Theres my wifes, ati stock, tacstar shroud and side saddle and hi vis front sight.
Dont get the folding stock it seems cool but they suck! Had one and hated it on a budget the ati/tacstar stuff works but if we did her gun again it would be messa and magpul.

Just a heads up you cant just change the foregrip on these as the action bars are molded right in there is a railed option from wolverine or change out the whole thing for a 500 pump slide tube then you can run whatever you want.

Nice start. I love mossbergs although I do have an 870 and a clone also. Be careful, shotguns multiply, I bet you have another inside of 6 months.

I recommend you buy this:

and put a bushnell TRS-25 on it and put lots of range time into that bastard.

To save a lot of coin, you can buy Lee Precision buckshot and slug molds, open up cheapo lead rounds and cast those little 7 1/2 pellets into something a little more useful. There are youtube videos on it.

Enjoy the #### outta that scattergun.

You sure got that right, I used to be a rifle man until I got a hell of a deal on an old Wingmaster, long story short I've been hooked ever since! And then I bought two more shotguns within 6 months! Need one in every gauge and for every occasion! LOL

Happy shooting!

Did you mean the one that folds over and 'stows' on top of the reciever? ive been looking at that one.

Im looking forward to trying wax/shot slugs!

I'd leave it stock! Looks good out of the box and works just fine and is prerfectly functional as is! I would add optics a sling and shell holder.
