Managed to fill my antlerless elk draw up in NW Alberta.

A nice 300ish yard shot with the Ruger No. 1 in .270 Win sent a 150 grain Sierra Gameking to its mark, and the old girl went down.

I can't help but notice that you have that ammo band on the wrong side of the buttstock; don't you find that very uncomfortable on your cheek?

Nope didn’t need all but 2 shots to be honest, first shot knocked her down, then a finisher at a closer range……. I’m sure the first one woulda ended it all, but seeing her flailing around on the ground, makes one want to end it sooner. Old school rules, on this one, heck the rifle dates to 1975!

Probably owns an I-phone, so one cartridge for the hunt, and the rest to signal his buddies for help after his phone died from being exposed to -4 C for 14 seconds.
