walked up on her about 80yds out,and sent a 120gr nosler P out of my 25-06 through her lungs.I saw the steam fly out of her ribs when I fired,so I let her trot out of sight.Left her for 10 minuts then went in to find her piled up not 30yds from where I hit her.

Obviously you haven't heard that the 25-06 is not a large enough calibre for moose :D

Nice shooting, nice moose. Enjoy the eats

Awesome - Congratulations!!!

A great testimonial for the sub-30 cal argument that's brewing in this Hunting section. Those guys that are #####ing about 150 grainers in 270 being unethical for moose should check-in here!

Nice shot! Well done with your 25 cal ! ! ! :dancingbanana:

I know someone who has a big stash of pics of carnage from a wee little 25 just waiting to calm the naysayers. :p
Not that is my first pick but I do know my old 25-06 has been slaying moose up at home for over 12 years now and rarely has a second shot been needed if ever. That lady can shoot!

Congrats on your freezer being full. Should be great eating.

Congrats! Nice shooting!

I would like to see them! I'm not questioning the caliber or anyone's ability to shoot however my (limited) personal experience leads me to believe otherwise, so please broaden my perspective and teach a relatively new hunter a few things.

My dad shot his first moose with a 25-06 and Winchester 120gr PEP factory ammo.

And pictures, you mean like this:

Tracy used her time off for a day of moose hunting before October was through. It proved to be a very productive day indeed as she connected on this great bull. As always, she was using her .257 Roberts with a 100 grain Barnes X bullet.

Wow, nice Bull! Lung shot? Did it go right through?

The OP did a superb lung shot, did it go right through the big cow?

Barbecue all the way. Have your steaks like 3-4 inches thick (little roasts) Marinate with olive oil balsamic vinegar brown sugar and spices. Get the grill as hot as you can sear your meat all the way around turn off your burner on one side put your meat on the turned off side. Grab beer light up a cigar enjoy your time for about 20 Min's or so.

Have a meat thermometer and when your meat just hits 140 deg f or 60deg Celsius.

Take your meat off wait another 5 minutes to let your meat rest than enjoy.

Beautiful rare to med rare and juices running clear melt in your mouth. Goodness

I looked at my stash last night after posting that and it might be better to just do a separate thread instead of spoiling this gentlemans.;) There are probably 40+ here of just the 25 Rem and 250 Savage slaying Bear and Moose.
If I show them all right now folks might loose all control and go buy little 25's and start killing stuff all over this year. Once season is over I will put it all together and then you can get one and practice up for next year. No time for it just now. Keep watching though, it is worth the wait.:)

Geeze Onion what in Heelll did you spend all that $$ on a new .375 Ruger for if your gonna hunt moose with a 25-06?? :p

Well my Ruger has no Optics on it:redface:.I had my brothers spare leupold on it until a couple weeks ago, then he went out and bougt a Ruger #1,and had me put it on for him,and sight it in.I have a Falcon Menace on the way.I guess I will try it on deer:eek:.
