Got my 858 today.

Got my 858 from Wolverine today. Wiped it down to get the best part of the cosmo off it. Going to feed it a bunch tomorrow, hopefully the wind dies down a bit.

MagnumPeanut first thing you should do is take 200 rounds and a handfull of targets and a good pair of ear muff's. Enjoy then take home rinse and lube. Repeat this process and enjoy the excitment over & over again.

Just got back from the range this morning. Did some shooting at a cardboard cutout at 50 yards. Sights need some tweaking but this morning was more about just letting it rip.
So here is my 4 year old using the camera to video me shooting it. Gun is very fun, much cooler than my sks.



So it was my son's turn. Remember he is only 4. We practiced gun safety and I think he did well. He'll learn and do better. The rifle was a little on the heavy side for him and the stock was too long to properly shoulder. It was mostly so he could just get to shoot and he thought it was fun. I let him shoot a few more mags before the morning was done.

He did pretty well there - good safety habits in the making, You're right - does look a bit heavy for him though. Need to get one modded for 7.62x25 so he can absorb the recoil

It is too bad more kids aren't exposed to firearms in the proper manner. If there were, there would be a lot fewer kids growing up to rob liquor stores & beat up old people for their pension cheques these days!
