just recieved my 180 hybrid bergers from jerry....a big thanks by the way. upon initial inspection they appear very similar, but when i looked closer i see that the meplat is definetly bigger, although not a lot, it is noticeable. the nose profile is noticeable as well when they are laid out side by side. however the oal is almost the same. here are the measurements that i got with my calipers and sinclair comparator.

original---
oal---1.527
col---.733

hybrid
oal---1.513
col---.668

these numbers are an "average" from the first 10 of each that i pulled from the respective boxes. although not scientific it does give some general numbers for comparisons. from this i see that the hybrid is roughly.065" shorter to the bearing surface. after talking with bryan litz about these he suggested that i would probably need to increase my powder charge by a couple grains to keep the same speed as my current load, this is due to the shorter bearing surface. time will tell. i plan on keeping the same load initially and varying the seating depth to see how forgiving this bullet really is. once i get some range time in i will post results. another thing that i did notice with the hybrids is the meplat is a lot more consistent than the older design, they are almost as consistent as bullets with trimmed meplats. updates to follow.
