Got my Cloud Defensive 'Merica!

Great to see you guys at TACCOM, as I wrote in my review, I was blown away by Cloud Defensive, so much so that I ordered one right away. Thanks again for managing to secure one of the limited edition ‘Merica models in Stars and Stripes camo!

What’s in the box

It is definitely a beauty!

And a beast! With 80,000 Candela and 1,100 Lumens! I opted for the High Candela option over the High Lumen for the insane throw (and the ‘Merica model only comes in HC anyway)

I like the way you can adjust the height/depth of the firing button by adding rings.

Should make for a great EDC

I’ll be back with some light tests when it gets dark and my battery is fully charged.

I was expecting a standard black light. When I saw the first pic I thought the light was an astro pop.

Ok back to gear. I was really looking forward to visiting Sportsman Group to check out the lineup of Cloud Defensive lights, which are reputed to be among the most powerful out there.

With super high Candela ratings, these lights have incredible throw and easily penetrate glass without dispersion.

One of the features I really like is the adjustable depth of the firing button. This is accomplished by removable rings.

First an indoor test…this is in pitch black at a distance of 25’

Next outdoor…the top of the building looks pitch black from about a third of a block away

The Cloud lights it up

Same story from half a block away

And even further although my camera does not show it well

I’ll do more tests when there aren’t so many people around lol.

A couple more...hard to see with my phone camera but the light was hitting the rooftop of the tallest building in the background...gotta be 300M!
