My wife got me a Girsan 3 1/2" semi for Father's day. Ordered it Sunday, got it Wednesday. I expected workmanship (or lack of) similar to Norcs - a functional but definitely very rough gun. Was I ever surprised! Fit and finish are awesome (got the camo model), at least as good as anything I've seen on Yank guns. Can't wait to go out and try it. Will keep you posted.

I'm not worried about firing target loads of game bird loads. It will be strictly a goose gun - maybe the odd duck shoot, but that's it.

Congrats! I heard some positive reviews of the Girsan semi’s. If you’re only planning to shoot geese with it using heavier loads, you shouldn't have any issues with cycling. Apparently they are more reliable out of a box with target loads then a 3.5” Benelli. Which model did you purchase...the MC312?

Yessir. The full camo version. I was also surprised to see the RealTree logo on the stock. My son hunts ducks with a few work buddies. They all use semi's. He has a Browning, one has a Benelli or Beretta (I forget) and 2 have Girsan's. One of the guys had to put 4 or 5 boxes through it to break it in, the other worked great out of the box, but he says he's never seen either of them have any issues with the Girsan's, whereas the guy with the Italian gun does have problems in the cold - but that could be due to a dirty gun, too much lube, any of a dozen issues.

That doesn't surprise me. While many lower end camo guns traditionally used unknown camo patterns to save on licensing fee’s, some of the newer guns have used the brand names we are all familiar with. Obviously the geese don't care what the camo pattern is, but the owner of the gun should be happy with what they own. What impresses me with some of these Turkish guns is that the camo is done rather well with vibrant high definition colours so the finish doesn't look blurry or faded. While I own a few synthetic stocked guns, Im not a big fan of them. The quality of the stocks makes all the difference and I have found that some of the Turkish guns have fantastic synthetics....very well fitted and very strong with no flex. Doesn't give the stocks that hollow or empty container feeling.

I've had it out twice. Fired about 50 rounds through it, all 2 3/4 and 3". I've tried Winchester Target loads (cheapies), AA's and Winchester 2 3/4 turkey loads, as well as Remington, Federal and Winchester 3", as well as Rem Hypersteel. I had 2 feeding issues, but surprisingly, it was the Winchester Turkey loads. I would have thought the target loads more likely to cause problems. The Hypersteel are not a lot of fun with just a T-shirt on. I'll keep you posted as time goes on.

Pictures or it did not happen.... preferable with your user name next to it.

Congratulations, I hear lots of good things about Girsan. It's surprising to me that it would cycle target loads so well!

I have to admit that I'm puzzled that it would cycle the 2 types of very light loads with no issues, but have problems with a fairly stiff turkey load. Now, the turkey loads are high brass, and the target are low brass - I have no idea if that could be the issue. Mind you, that's only a total of about 50 shots, and I'm told it can take a few hundred to break in an inertia gun. Problem is, when I'm dressed in just a T-shirt (well, I do have pants and shoes, but I figure you know what I mean), 25 round per session is about my comfort level.

But yeah, I am very impressed so far. The trigger and the workmanship are top notch, and the light pipe front sight (not sure if that's the proper term) is awesome. Can't wait to try it on geese. Started getting my decoys, found 2 fields that I can shoot in. All I need is some cool weather (and an open season, of course).

The Girsan firearms seem to get great reviews, often compared to guns way above their price. I have been looking for one of the MC 312 Gobbler or Sporter shotguns. While we don't have a turkey season (yet) in NB, they look like they would be a great coyote shotgun.

Hi PapaClaude - How are you doing with that Girsan? I also bought one last summer and i love it. Only fired about 30 shells so far, including some slugs, using the open choke. Right after the first slugs I went out and got a Limbsaver pad  Now not a problem, after my shoulder healed:d. Cycles #8 target very well also.
To HollowPoint - I'm in Moncton and Dr. Deals has a few left in 3", only about $370 for Synthetic and more $$ for camo and walnut. Sold out of 3.5".:(
