Picked up at md 788 in .222. I'd been looking for a dedicated varmit gun.It has the lightest trigger pull I've ever felt.I've only had the chance to fire off a half dozen shells but it feels good. Can't wait to try it on some gophers come spring.

Congrats!

I've been taking a hard look at buying my first Remmy too. Looking at the M700 LV in 22-250.

I had to pinch myself the other day. The strangest thing happened. Todbartell spent 20 minutes trying to talk me out of buying one and to go with the T3.

Did hell freeze over?

If your 788 has the lightest trigger pull you've ever felt, either the trigger mechanism has been altered, or is perhaps worn. Might be a idea to have a good look at it.

The trigger mech has been replaced with a fully adjustable trigger.I forget exactly what it's called but he told me it was quite expensive.I'll ask him tonight. It was my uncle's and he told me it was the most accurite rifle he's ever owned. He also had a custom stock made for it.

That's good news. The original trigger mechanism is intentionally non-adjustable, and unless tuned very skillfully, there could be safety issues.
