Took mine out for the first time two weeks ago to play with some friends. We all had a great time. Zeroed and set within a minute, and then went through 150 rounds. l was actually impressed, I didn't think it would be as accurate as it was, maybe since I am not used to shooting with a dot sight. Two and three inch sized targets at 50 to 75m were pretty easy standing unsupported in pretty high winds. It will definitely get more play time in.

Congratulations and enjoy!
I sure am having a blast.

I want one so bad :( Very, very jealous of your purchase.
Now, I'm almost certain they don't, but does the Tavor come with BUIS included, or just the optic?

Yeah that's what I though, but I'm not seeing a rear. Not one that you could use with the optic on for co-witness purposes anyhow...
I have been wrong before though.

It actually has a front BUIS folded down, as mentioned, and the rear is built into the rail. The Mepro has to be mounted as far forward as possible to allow the rear BUIS to flip up, and yes, it does co-witness the optic :)

Range Report!

OK, I had it out today - pics to follow

I ran about a hundred rounds through it today, and let me just say - I FREAKING LOVE THIS RIFLE!!!

Ergonomics were fabulous; it was really quite natural hitting the mag release with your fingertip as you insert the new mag, and hitting the bolt release with your thumb... with practice, I think i'll be just as fast, if not faster (?) with this than I am with an AR15.

All mags dropped free, and everything worked properly, with the exception of a few slam-fires, which I attribute to the .223 commercial ammo I was using.

Accuracy was pop-can adequate from a standing position at about 50 yards, though the sight reticle pretty much hid the can! I'm sure it was much more accurate than the kind of shooting I was using it for.

Balance was great; it's not exactly light, but all of the weight is right in by your shoulder, so it points very naturally. A friend who has said she finds my 858 way too heavy was much happier firing the Tavor.

Recoil and muzzle rise were both negligible, though this may in part be due to the Nordic Components comp I installed this morning.

Any questions I haven't answered, feel free to ask. If you're debating purchasing one of these, just DO IT!!

Try hitting the mag release with your right thumb instead. I can't take credit for this goyhmog I believe posted it first. This should make your changes even smoother. Smooth is fast.

Also 55gr pmc ammo showed good accuracy at 50 yards. Was only shooting it off hand but definitely better than pop can accuracy.

The Tavor is my favourite rifle for shooting offhand

Seriously? I thought that issue was dealt with?

If I paid $3k+ for a rifle that was slam-firing I'd be pissed. It's not like 5.56 surplus is available in Canada to avoid the problem.

Hey guys, I love this rifle so much! Just a few slam fires here, and an occasional full-auto burst there, but did I mention how much I love the sling loops!
