I ordered two chi com nagants (Type 53). I restored one and the other will soon get an Archangle stock. This is the one i redid. I wish i had taken before pics. I restored it and brass bedded it. The metal is in excellent shape, but the wood was trashed. The stock was broke in two just behind the bolt. It is all maching, even the stock ( thats why i chose this one to restore ). Something i find odd, this stock was trashed, yet all the metal was excellent. The bore looks new. The numbers match so i assume the stock and the metal saw the same action. All the chi coms ive worked on are similar, good bores but trashed stocks. I guess Chu wood is not the best.
I put about 50 rounds through it today and it seems to be one of my more accurate Mosins.
Now I'm waiting on an Enfield and Swiss straight pull.
