Got my whitetail this year :)

Didn't get a buck last year, so this is nice. Got it out of a stand at 90 yards with a 480gr hard cast at about 1700 out of my marlin 45/70. First deer with the rifle Shot was great through the chest and broke the other side elbow joint. Deer went about 30 yards with a huge blood trail.

There's a big buck in the area we see on our trail cams. It's a 5/6 point. He's the boss so the smaller bucks aren't swollen up. I think the meat is going to be great on this one.

Thanks Guys, it was the only buck I saw this trip, so I'm glad I pulled the trigger. Even more glad I finally got one with my 45/70

Lots of guys went without a buck this year after hunting hard, although one guy shot a 8x8.

Nice work!.. I have yet to knock one down with my 45-70. I keep tagging out with my muzzleloader or bow.... no complaints on that though!

Congrats. I shot an H&R 45-70 for quite a few years and loved the power but you have to watch where you shoot them, you can make a mess. I now do most of my hunting with a muzzleloader to take advantage of the better weather, and get away from the road hunters.
