cci stinger = 1640 fps baby! 32 grain copper plated hollow point.

I can't wait to try these out. What can I expect from them, and how will they compare to the bulk 40 grain winchester wildcat stuff that I've been using?

By the way I also got some 36 grain copper plated hollow point federals for my bulk stuff. Package says 1280 FPS... Any comments on these rounds?

Can't wait to try em out

I've been using Stingers for a long time for gopher shooting. They are very destructive, but usually not the most accurate round you'll find for your rifle. I like the little extra "zip" they have when pest shooting though, even if they are a little more expensive than "regular" ammo.

As for cycling wise there's a huge difference when using stingers. My 10/22 is like butter when I use em compared to anything else.

I like shooting the Stingers & Quik Shocks thru my 64b, I find they make it cycle better, accuracy is the only drawback, but aslong as you can achieve minute of gopher @50yds your laughing.
They're definately worth the extra cost.

Stingers shoot 4.5" groups out of my Toz78 at 25 meters and the chamber is a wee bit tight for them (makes for a very sticky bolt). For comparison the Toz78 shoots the bulk federal packs into .5" 5 shot groups at 50 meters using a bulk pack of ammo as a rifle rest... their destructive power is useless when you can not hit a gopher with them.

stingers are good but feds are better

Do not have the numbers in front of me, but I ran a series of tests with all the quick ones through a martini. Stingers are quick, but had better results with the federal hyper velocity and they grouped like a hot damm. My two bits.

Ps they cycle just fine through the 10/22 but there not so keen in the butler creek mags:canadaFlag:

stingers??

tried a box of them out with a couple of my .22's , didn't find them that accurate ,but very expensive , other choices I've tried are Remington " yellowjackets" with 33 gr., bullet ( truncated hollowpoint ) very fast (1500 f.p.s. ) and accurate , and I've tried some Federal " champion" 36 gr., bought these at canadian tire and won't hesiate to use them on groundhogs out to 100 yards, they also shot better than the stingers . good luck Joe.

With rifles, I've found Stingers to shoot about an inch above the point of aim, if the rifles in question were previously sighted with other hyper-velocity ammunition. I've always assumed this was due to the lighter bullet weight.
