Looking at late August wolf hunting, a lot of central and northern BC regions open August 15th for Wolf. If it was you, where would you head, I'm thinking Bartell might have some decent input if he finds this thread. Heck, is the early season even any good? Pelt's aren't going to be stellar this time of year, unfortunately.

Anyhow, any special methods as well? I'm an experienced coyote caller, and will likely fall back on the same techniques, but if there's pointers you can give, please do.

There were always lots of wolves in the Kechika River drainage when I was there. Always see them where the Caribou hunting is good too, Muncho lk or Toad river. Saw piles of them flying in out of that dease lake country.

There are always some around the Pine Pass too. I see a few from the highway every year.

kind of acrappy time of the year to hunt wolves but if your just looking to get out to save boardom then giver, winter is the optimal time for them, and yea dease is a decent area to start for sure

I'll certainly be making a winter foray though when hides and tracking are much more in my favour.

there are wolves in good numbers in most areas of the province. In the Cariboo they have opened up no-bag-limit seasons for 2007/08.

Keep an eye on the new Predator Hunt Canada site which will be up and running in the next week or so. THere will be lots of predator hunters on there that could help you in your quest for a wolf
