Ok well the guy in america is a total champion. Near instant turnaround, he must have got it, done the work over the next couple days, then shipped it out right away.

Initial unboxing impression = freaking awesome looking.

Beautiful welds... didnt adjust fitment AT ALL with the application of heat. Good milling... clean finish.

looks awesome on the rifle... on and off smooth and solid.

His website is real flaky, just a little fabrication enterprise... but he also does detachable mags for the stock mosin nagant.

Mine is an archangel.. and the barrel lift is like 12 inches.. this should handle it.

Looks pretty sweet!

KGB why would the detachable mags be illegal? I cant think of any reason a magazine designed for a bolt action rifle could possibly be illegal, even in Canada.

Pardon my ignorance but I was pretty sure that the mag has to be maximum of 5 rounds capacity in Canada to be legal or, to be exactly correct, non restricted. Correct me please if I m wrong but don't beat me up...

I won't beat you up but you are wrong! The 5 round limit is for center fire semi auto long guns. Not bolt, lever and pump.

Hmmm, just looked all over the HI CAL site and did not see one for the original stock. But instead found a great gift for my buddy's birthday, the Glock knife @ $70.00!! The check out was a breeze thru the (FRAUD ALERT).

They require an after market stock to fit the rifle then, just type Mosin into the search field on the online store part of their site and will see it.

i have the archangel.
dont confuse it with the riflemods detachable for the original stock :)

the youtube video is pretty clear.

If only we had a local supplier like hical to sell them, but its a breeze to deal with the guy in the states...

It's a breeze now, until BATF catches wind and drops the "F$ck you for exporting rifle parts without filling out 798 pages of permit applications, in triplicate, and paying fees designed to keep small shops from exporting but are no deterrent for the big players..."

Just saying.

A lot of these small operators go for years before BATF drops the hammer on them, but they all get the hammer eventually.

well, its not a part, so its fine.
a bayonet isnt a rifle part, you can ship them back and forth no problem.
a muzzle brake thats custom built isnt a rifle part unless it was designed and built and sold for that rifle as a muzzle brake.

shouldnt have any issues.

came just fine, no customs delays, plainly labelled "antique muzzle brake"

i freakin hope they never start messing with guys like him... they should be loosening restrictions on parts and components... tweaking is fun :)

The Archangel Mosin stock includes a detachable 5 rd mag conversion, free float barrel, adjustable length of pull & cheek riser, we stock 10 rd detachable mags as well, HERE.
We also stock Witt lightweigt premium muzzle brakes for the Mosin, these are the nicest we have ever seen! HERE.

nice looking design... especially if those smaller ports are on top only for downforce.
but i dont trust anything bolt on with that much gas... especially since it makes the gun too long to fit in an extra large gun box so you have to remove it.

bigger ports make for easier cleaning too, that thing would get gunked up to hell in 25 rounds of polish milsurp. (pretty much have to run a boresnake through the rifle after that many as it is).

Ill be taking it out to the range as soon as i can find a decent scout scope for it! :)

As others have pointed out, that only applies to semi autos.

Also, if it were a 6+ round mag for a semi it would be prohibited, not restricted. (unless pinned before being brought into the country of course)

Unless it was for a center fire pistol.
