First set and I didn't get a good picture of it, but had the first Red fox come in to a set. I did not shoot it and will not until they come back but out of 5 years of calling this was the first.
My second set I got into a place I have not hunted this year. Setup and got sat down and my damn glasses fogged up. I waited a few seconds and they started to clear so I grab a hand call and started a jack rabbit distress. As I'm calling and looking out of these glasses I catch a yote running back into the thrash in front of me. I have not called for 1 minute yet. A second later and a second one comes out to the right and stands looking and I swung and took her down. I looked at the time and I have the 2nd one down in 2 minutes of the set. I tried some pup distress, howling , and rabbit distress and not a chance to get the other back out. I guess you have to try. 27 minutes I put in with no more action...

Coyotes....None on Vancouver Island......not sure if its a swim across a Strait thing, or Cougars. There are also none on the Sunshine Coast or Powell River despite being on the mainland, perhaps Cougars again, but certainly Rain Wolves.

Previously there were no Grizzly on Vancouver Island, now there have been 5 swim across the Gulf islands. All male, so probably pretty grumpy.

Nature has its ways of filling roles in a ecosystem.

Nice coyote Adrian, the smile on your face is telling my that you enjoyed the day off.
I got my first a couple weeks ago and it was wonderful. Things have slowed down with the new house and I have more time to get out over the next few weeks.
Keep with the elimination project, the yotes took a deer down in the pasture at my buddy's farm and that is where I will be hunting.
