Got the last K31 from Lebaron Ottawa!

Sounds great. Have never fired one, but have seen them from time to time. They've always appealed to me and I'd love to get one some day.

How much was Lebaron selling them for?

Have a great day at the range with it!

Their great rifles, especially when you consider the other "milsurps" that were being produced around the same time frame. If you haven't all ready get yourself some GP11 ammo.

Well it was the last one because the other 5 got sold...
Bought 120 GP11 for $103 taxes in.
Went out at 100m for schits and gigs and shot a 1 inch 6 shot group with iron sights. Elevation was about 2 inches low for the 100m setting but deflection was spot on. These thngs can shoot. Straight pull bolt is the best thing ever invented. Be careful lying prone tho...i cycled the action and gave myself a nice cut under my right eye. U must lift your head to cycle it. I found outthe hard way.

They must turn over quickly never saw one at the store

If you detach the butt plate you might find the paperwork that gives the details (name, rank and ser. number) of the soldier that the rifle was originally issued to. Most often this has been removed but sometimes one gets lucky. I shot one for ten years, awesome Swiss accuracy.

I actually sold the one in the pic and bought a dark walnut stocked one from tradex. 100% bluing and razor sharp rifling. Put the diopter sight from swiss products and proceeded to shoot 4in groups at 300m. This rifle blows my mind. It was made in 1942. And yes i pulled both butt plates and saw both of the previous owners particulars. Very cool!

Saw one on Saturday at the Etobicoke store, but my wife wanted me to buy a lever action. Picked up a Marlin 336, but that K31 looked sweet.

The Swiss Army had a standard procedure of slathering bore grease into the rifle after every use. It took many patches to clean out before use but sure keeps the bore in good shape. Most of the K31's will have very good bores because of this. The bolt comes out very easily so pushing a brush full of the stuff in is not hard. Add this careful storage to the Swiss craftsmanship and you have what might be called typical Swiss precision. The stocks look rough sometimes because of boot contact during parade drill but the action is almost always awesome. When I shot with the Swiss it was with members my age that had been issued Sig assault rifles but often shot their Dad's (Uncle etc) K31 for the annual qualification obligation.

Ya im bringing it for sure. Along with my new Applied Ballistics Kestrel. Tradex has all kinds of ammo for these rifles. Norma,PPU,and GP11

I picked one up from Le Baron's Ottawa yesterday as well. They sold out the first 5 they brought in as an experiment, I bought the first one from the second batch of 5 (they have 4 left). 1951 manufacture, great condition, comes with a cleaning kit and all the basic bits and bobs. There was no identification paper in the buttplate though. They did not have any GP11 in stock, nor the dies.

I've gone and ordered brass and a bayonet from Tradeex, dies from Brownells, and GP11 from SFRC. Next pay I'll also be ordering the muzzle brake and clamp on scope mount from Tradeex - I shoot terrible with irons.
