Hey guys, never used speed loaders before. I got sent the Safariland comp 3's instead of the 2's. What is everyones opinion of them? Pain it the ass that long? Take up more room in the range bag for no reason? Thanks
 
I have 6 of the comp 2's they are good, but it is all personal preference, I would try the comp 3's out if i was you. I will be in Saskatoon in a few weeks and i will let you try some comp 2's. try them out the 3's first though. larger can be a big asset when you are grabbing for them very quickly.

mine are for a 686, or a gp 100.
 
Comp 3's are super quick to grasp and I find you can really slam them home quick (in competition)

If it turns out you don't want them and they are for GP100/686, PM me I will take them.
 
If you're shooting in matches the 3's are fantastic because the rounds are actually shot out of the loader by spring tension instead of just coming loose like with the 2's. So faster reloads with less fumbling. For casual shooting it's not a big deal either way. In fact for casual shooting I don't bother with speed loaders. It's simply easier to load right from the ammo trays.

Farmboy maybe I know you, maybe not, but either way are you going to show up to the Wednesday night fun action shooting at the wildlife federation when you are in Stoon?
 
Generally Comp3's are preferable - unless you're using a duty rig, and even then I knew a few guys back in the day that carried Comp3's for their Model 10's. The Comp3 moves the palm of your 'loading' hand away from the cylinder, they allow easier, faster and more positive reloads.
