Gov Colt .45 grip and mag well question...

Dumb question here...

I notice most competition shooters have mag wells on their guns. My question is, is there such a thing as an integrated grip and mag well? So just by switching up the grip it has a mag well or guide underneath it, or is this always done purely as an on-gun frame modification?

I believe there are ones that replace the mainspring housing and have the magwell built in.
