What is a decent first time purchase for a gps for atv trail riding , hunting an fishin . Any good deals ?? . Any ones to avoid ??

I need to find a simple GPS or find a bock GPS for dummies Haahaa
bin using a tablet with Ihunt BC and Ihunt Alberta apps it's not bad
but I would think a dedicated GPS would be a lot better especially with the batteries

Have a Garmin 60cx that was a good all round unit. Haven't used it much since I got a more road friendly unit. Waterproof, rubberized, handheld unit, but had handlebar mounts and external power supply for the atv and motorcycle. Also had topographic maps to load for it. Great for hunting, hiking, canoeing, off road, or on road use.

Not sure what the up-to-date version would be, as I haven't kept up with them, but Garmin makes some good units.

Check GPS Central, GPS City, or Radio World.

My dad and I are running Garmin 62's and love em. They have since stopped making the 62 and replaced them with the 64 which looks basically the same and I'm sure it's more of what's inside that has changed. Get one with a mini SD card slot for downloading maps and there are great free topo map files online that you can download and install yourself vs spending the extra money (was about a $100 difference at the time I bought mine) for the GPS that came with a SD card preloaded with the maps.

LE303, I assume you're asking about handheld GPS. I bought a Garmin Montana 650 four years ago and have been very pleased. It has a 4" touch screen, uses the rechargeable battery pack or double A batteries, has a tough rubberized case and is waterproof. It has tons of functions, including a camera, which are pretty easy to use once you get used to them and the unit. The batteries will last a full day and it recharges in a couple of hours using the household or 12 volt adapter it came with. Never had a problem picking up the satellites even in heavy overstory. I loaded it with the Trakmaps (Ontario version) software. Overall it is has been an excellent unit to use and to manage tracks and mark waypoints on the map. For the ATV I mounted the RAM bracket which holds it very securely in any position needed. Easy to use on the fly. All in I'm at $850 but worth it IMO. I think the Montana 650 has been superseded by the Montana 680.

I also use a mintana 650, picked it up from a pawnshop for 200 bucks. Works well and the camera is a easy way to mark a way point.
