Grades of buy back pistols

Can anyone explain how pistols are graded. Browsing a website and see LE buy backs grade 2. What is the criteria? Should I steer clear of grade 2??
 
Who knows? Ask the seller. I would assume that grade 2 pistols would show more signs of wear and tear from having been issued and in service for a longer period than grade 1.
