My grandfather was a very elegant human being. He had superb taste in firearms, and while my cousins got the bulk of his collection, he left this little jewell to me!

one of my dad's reloading books had something similar- it's like one of the early lyman types, back when lyman made scopes- called the jr targetspot or something like that- look at the wood on that - absolutely superb- the scope , of course is externally adjusted-

Now there is a nice looking gun! I would love to have that gun ;).

Winchester 52B sporter by the looks of it. A real classic nice looking gun. Take good care of that one ! :)

For those of you not familiar with such things, this particuar scope is a 6x fixed Unertl "Small Game Scope". I would guess that my grand father acquired it sometime in the early 50s when Unertl scopes were admired for thier optical quality, robustness and functional accuracy. Note the mounting blocks on the reciever and barrel.

Like some have said the classic rifle look from that era 55+ years ago.

:)

Very, Very, Cool! I have been interested in Unertl scopes since I saw one in the bio about Carlos Hathcock. He had one on his 30-06 winchester he used in Vietnam...I think it was a 7 power and he had it zero'd at 700 yrds....
