Hi all. I received my K100 Mark 6 today from Wolverine Supplies (excellent to deal with BTW).

I'm left handed, so I was pretty happy with the mag release and the safety, however I'm having a problem with the slide release.

The slide release on the right side of the gun is pretty much impossible to release when the mag is empty. I only managed to release it twice, and that was very very hard. The release on the left side of the gun works when it's empty, but feels a little stiff.

If there is a round or more in the mag, both the left one, and the right one work just the way they are supposed to...

It does the same thing with both mags that came with the gun.

I'd like to get it working the way it's supposed to.

Any suggestions would be appretiated...

Sounds like the mags are working as they should then...

The floorplate of the mag is what is hindering you from pressing down on the slide release when the mag is empty. This is how the slide locks back when the mag is empty. The floorplate presses the slide release up after the last round is fired.

It will most likely become easier the more rounds you put through the gun.

agreed

why are you closing the action of a pistol with an empty mag still in it?
If you release the mag, then the slide closes easily, right?

how do you like that K100. I am very interested in picking one up. Do you find it really plasticy at all?

Alright, I think I figured out what's the problem. I'm a n00b
I did forget to mention that it releases fine when the mag is released. I just thought if the one was releasing the slide with a empty mag, maybe the other one should too.. So if this is normal then, and by your responses it seems that way, there is no problem! :dancingbanana: But I'm still

Thanks for the help guys!

@matt.hack:

The pistol doesn't feel very plasticy at all, that's what I was sort of worried about, but it feels rather nice. Fits my hand fairly well, better than my brothers CZ-75 SP-01. The finish is nice, the trigger feels very good, and safety is easy to operate, as is the mag release. The only thing I would "complain" about is the slide release, the tabs are just a little too flat for my liking, but they aren't too bad. And field stripping it IS just as easy as they make it look in the video. :D I didn't get a chance to shoot it yet :runaway: , but when I do, I might post a mini review.

If you need pictures from some angles, let me know, I found it sort of hard to find a lot of pictures of the pistol before I bought it, there is only a few sites that have pics of them...

thank you very much for the mini review, glad to hear the gun is working properly

Im sure everyone on CGN would appreciate a range report once you get the chance, as there seems to be a lot of interest in this gun recently.

If you happen to take some pics I would love to see them as well

thanks nebojsa

I ordered extra mags from Wolverine, and they said they don't have any at the moment, but will in a few weeks, and will send them then. That's good enough for me... Not sure if anyone else has some, wouldn't mind finding out myself...

I've put about 600 rounds through my Mk.6 and it is really accurate! I had two jams (stovepipes), but they were easy to clear. I was also able to jam it by limp wristing it while shooting gansta stye. This was the only way I could make it jam and I would never shoot like that in real life so no big deal.

neb... you will find that when you slap a loaded mag into your k100 at the range that the slide will close automatically, so don't worry about the slide release so much. In saying that, don't rule out a defect, as I sent my first k100 back for a couple of cosmetic flaws.

My only real complaint is the floppy safety. It isn't positive at all and you can bump it on and off by accident. And yes, the safely is very plasticy, but the rest of the gun is a great deal for $650.
