Got one of these Grand Power Excalibur and really liking it. Would like to swap out the stock wide thumb safeties for the narrow ones which Grand Power kindly packs along the other other goodies that come in the case. Can't find a YouTube video on how to take out the installed thumb safety. Anyone have any tips or instructions?

Thanks

Easy.

Field strip it as normal.

Press out the rear frame roll pin. (The one at the top of the replaceable backstrap or the one that might be hidden under it if you are using the largest one.)
Push up slightly on the hammer to try and lift the frame insert a hair width or two.
Rotate the safety up.
With your finger nails (if you can or a thin blade if needed) pry the safety lever straight sideways.

Press the replacement on the shaft tight and flush, then press the roll pin back in.

Any trouble, scream.

Thanks David! It's a 2 min job once you know how - lol. I do think the wide thumb safety is much easier to use, but it just interferes with my right thumb slightly and throws off my grip a bit so I'll use the narrow safety for now. I may try to re-profile the ledge of the wide thumb safety later on.

Safeties are always a matter of personal taste. I have big mitts, and with the biggest backstrap the wide safeties fit me perfectly on both sides.
I know when I sent out my team gun for a little cross T&E tour, Brennan would have preferred the thin safety on the weak side as his trigger finger could bump the safety up.

Fortunately the X-Cals come with both so you can switch or mix and match.
