Recently I was lucky enough to spot a used Grand Power X-Calibur on EE at great price so I couldn't resist and bought it. The gun had 2000 rounds through it but was in great shape inside and outside.
Interestingly Grand Power guns are not very popular even though they are great guns and very modestly priced. For instance, X-Calibur costs $1,165 new and it's a top notch competition gun. The great package I got from EE cost me only $900.
I decided to publish all the photos from my range visit to give you full impression of what this gun can do and how easy it is. But some personal impressions (I'm shooting handguns around 5 years now 1 time a month in average and owned quite a few guns):
1. Trigger is great. And not only how light it is, but also the angle is right, so when you're pulling the trigger you're not moving your muzzle. There is very little overtravel too, so the nose of the pistol doesn't dip every time when you're about to shoot.
2. One of the backstraps fits my hand so well that it makes this pistol the best fitting pistol I've ever shot. It contributes to accuracy a lot. It also makes you feel less recoil and reduces fatigue so over the time accuracy doesn't suffer much.
3. The pistol has very light perceived recoil, around 60% of an average polymer-framed pistol. I can't tell for sure what it makes to reduce recoil so much, but I think that partially it's the rotating barrel system, partially a very comfortable backstrap, and probably proper mass distribution as well.
4. Every single flyer on the targets is my fault. The gun can do much better than I can.
Now the photos of the targets. A 9mm dummy round is added for scale.
First I shot it at 10 yards, it was the first time I've shot this pistol. 20 rounds at 10 yards.
Then some targets at 15 yards range. 10 shots per target. All targets are hand made, hope you appreciate that!

Now the last target I shot. It's a game I usually do with my 22LR pistol but decided to try it with this one. 5 yards, one shot at every red dot on the target. At this point I was relatively tired and didn't have much time to. It's entirely possible to hit every single dot with some training.
My conclusion is: I absolutely love this gun and now want to shoot it more. I highly recommend giving Grand Power a try and if you can afford X-Calibur then it's definitely a good alternative to much more expensive guns. Now I'm looking for Grand Power in 22LR so I could shoot it more.
