Grease for pistols

Thanks for all the replies.
I decided to go with some White lithium grease which I was able to order from amazon. We'll see how well this stuff does and adjust accordingly.

It looks tasty and comes in a nice tube, very fancy.

I’m using this as well. Quite happy with it.

You will find out fast this do not protect much at gun temps.
White grease also dry and become an asle to remove if left on for a long time.
Bad choice in my view.

I had been using Super Lube, but lately I got a small tub of True-Blue that I got from Maple Ridge Armoury. That stuff is ridiculously slick and stays put. Very little goes a long way. Their oil is very nice and well. Also, I switch to oil on the rails in the colder months.

ALG has a close to liquidy purple grease. Highly recommend.
Beyond that I use Slip2000 extreme weapon grease. I have no complaints with this grease either. Highly recommended.

I have used those greases on guns on some of the coldest of alberta days to some of the warmest. They’ve functioned well on my guns.

lets see, what greases and lubricants have I used over the years. hmmm, pretty much all of the various gun lubes from that Frog crap to Slide Glide to Slick or Slip 6 billion or whatever, and everything in between and around.
The demands of a gun are so much less than that of a car engine or a transmission that it's silly think specialized lubricants are needed, especially for the average consumer. If you're running a full auto in sand, rain or whatnot, sure, maybe there is a need for something specialized, but other than that, nope. And, if you believe that there has been a ton of money spent on designing gun lubes I have a bridge to sell you. Outside of Lucas the amount of money spent on researching gun lubes is pretty much nothing.
It's funny having visited a number of manufacturers and seen the 50 gallon drums they use for their assembly and test firing, and, in some cases, repackaging as their special mix of gun oil. It ain't gun oil.

here's a quote from Ross Seyfried in Guns and Ammo June 1980, "All moving surfaces should be kept well lubricated with a good synthetic oil...but they don't have to be kept clean! I shot my pistols 2,000 rounds between cleanings, using lubricated cast bullets. The dirt and goo literally ooze out of them guns." I mean, what could he know right???

For anyone who doesn't know the name Ross Seyfried, it'd be well worth your time to look him up.

Pretty much any product will do this if you don't clean your guns. I'm sticking with white die makers grease, it has never failed me, and it is easy to clean up. It is designed NOT to hold dirt, as that would cause abrasion in die sets. Use a thin film; if you can see white grease on/in your gun, you are likely using too much.

Unlike oil, grease stays put.
Grease slide rails. Oil whatever else you think needs it.
I use cheap lithium grease and it has not been an issue.
Uber expensive gun lubes are not worth the price to me.
