Grease or oil on slides?

Has anybody else tried Lubriplate 105?

White grease, comes in a 10-ounce tube, GM product.

We used a lot of it in the oilfield wireline business for cableheads, gun ports and things like that. Put a gun down to 3600 feet and you have just about 2000 pounds a square inch on it, nothing inside it and the sal####er outside trying to get in so it can P all over your Primacord and deaden your detonator dodo dead. Stuff doesn't displace even under that kind of punishment AND it doesn't freeze up in40 below, either.

I use it on slides, frames. US military recommended it for Garands in cold weather. Works fine.

If you have some that's really old, you will find that a bit of super-fine oil tends to separate from the remainder of the emulsion. This you hoard, as it is terrific for oiling tiny little parts with a single drop on the end of a pin: don't have to rip down your entire trigger group to lube it.

Worth a try. And it's not expensive.

Would it not depend on conditions and intent?

For competitions, and being outside in somewhat hot and dusty inviro - oil may be a better choice. Rain - grease. CCW - grease.

This is what I use! Been using it for over 25 years...:) A tube goes a very long ways, it's reasonable in cost and high on performance!

Coconut oil. Makes me feel like I'm on the beech mon!

Either that, or Slide Glide and TW-25B, depending on my mood.

Mobil 1 moly something or another. Very very good grease. I use on allmoving parts, rotating or sliding. I find with my P226 after about 1200-1500 rounds it needs to be cleaned and regreased. I could never go back to oil. The m14 and CZ858 also love the grease.

I have been trying out TRI-Flow that i got from a locksmith friend and really like it.Really slick and doesnt seem to have any temp memory.

Triflow with telfon is great stuff. I use it to coat the bore and for certain cleaning duties. Seems to hold on without drying out badly like other light oils.
