Hi Sir!

Well, the overall look of the old dame seems to scream Germanic to me.

Any way we could look at the inside of the lock??

Maybe some sort of old Hessian dragoon pistol??

Ahhhhh then I look at those grooves on the frizzen/battery.....I think turks and the like were the only fellows to really do that in modern pattern flintlocks -bridaled battery and all the mech inside the lock unlike the earlier snaphounces and their like.

Could have origionally been a Germanic unit then repaired and used out in the eastern world.....who knows unless we could look at her innards.

One bonus if shes a turkish unit is that you can fully restore her and still sleep at night.

The pointed butt cap and the wire inlay makes me think Turkish or that general area. The bridled frizzen makes me think the date would have been late 1700s or early 1800s

cheers mooncoon

Check the inside of the lock plate, base of the main spring the lever that the trigger engages on the lock the interior of the hammer........

Base of the barrel, in the breach area

Umm you might have to really get in there and clean it out with a q-tip and some alcohol and oil to expose anything.

Looks like there was some nice engravings on the outside of the hammer and lock, makes me think the origional maker "whereever he was from" would want to put some sort of mark in there somewhere.

I think its a really neat looking unit.

Heres a few links of pistols that are -kinda like it-
