Hey CGN,
Found a great resource while i was in my units int. cell and though it was great for those who are stuck on MGRS like me, and dont want to learn a different way.
This will get you the maps we use in the Army, they are in the MGRS system, and very easy to use. My garmin is set to use this, and I find it very easy and fast to use. Most of the maps will come in .PDF format ready to print.
So here's the steps, there easy dont freak out!
Start by opening a new tab in your internet browser. copy and paste whats below in the quotations
"http://www.geogratis.gc.ca/geogratis/AdvancedSearch?lang=en&pt1=f&pt2=f&pt3=f&pt4=f&pt5=f&pt6=f&q=&minx=-180.0&miny=-90.0&maxx=180.0&maxy=90.0"
First step done! Next, go down to "product type" and click maps
Next go down to "map series" and click on that, and find "CanMatrix - Print ready" and click on that.
Now go back to the top and under "Enter and Select a Geographical Name: " put in a reference point. I use the closest town.
If its not picking up your area enough, you can use the "use map extent" to widen the area to find the place you hunt.
I have not tried printing them at stamples or anything, i just print them at work. I dont see why they wouldnt print them, but hay you never know. Otherwise, i also bring my ipad hunting and have a copy of the area im at in .pdf on there, also keep a backup of my dope's and load data.
Hope it helps you guys, its been pretty usefull for me. Let me know if you have any questions, im no expert but i can try and help.
