I havent bought anything from Marstar in years, But they had a Cap N Ball I was interested in.

Great person on the phone. Very patient & helpful
Great Lay Away plan as well.
Everything went very smoothly, very happy.
Its really hard to find good people Now a days.

kinda reminds me of Henry at Budget shooters supplies ...great communication and genuinely good people.

Very similar experience, would certainly buy from them again...was also a cap and ball revolver.

I just acquired some new “items” from them, and was fully satisfied with the transaction. Good service and fast delivery. Never had issues with all my previous interactions and the trends keep happening.

Yes..they have an Excellent selection and Price on their western BP Revolvers....and all the fixins to go with them.

Exited to get my hands on it !

I bought an 1858 from them a few months ago and it’s great. Got the standard sight version as I have an original 1858 and don’t want to shoot the antique on a regular basis. BP is relatively new to me and is quite enjoyable.

I did have a bit of a struggle finding all the necessary bits locally though, lead balls, BP, lubed wads, nipple wrench, cleaning supplies etc.

well....Now that I've had time for a close inspection, I am disappointed.

Its MY fault. I read the description Wrong in the add.
It said "TARGET SITES" I ASUMED they were Adjustable as well, " UP /Down/ and screw to adjust the left/right
There is NO Elevation on the rear Site.......which means I will be Filling down the front site to get POA
The rear Site, instead a screw to adjust Windage,...must be made with Drifting the Blade site with a punch.

" It looks adjustable for elevation but its not"

I thought it was going to be fully adjustable in tiny increments . Oh well....its totally doable ,but a bunch more work and wasted powder to get it dialed in.
So then....I guess Target sites & adjustable sites are NOT the same.
Had I known this , I would have bought the Ruger.

It matters alot because I was planning on doing Long range Precession shots.

another down side is- once I mechanically dial it in for 75 & 100 yards, I will have re figure my 25 & 50 yard shots.
With fully adjustable sites I would be able to "dial it Back" to point of aim at any distance.

I would have to use a very exaggerated 6 O clock hold for close targets....maybe below the target.

I love my Ruger security 6
I am always on target. after shooting 38 special at 25 yards...I change to 357ammo & give the elevation 4 turns and I'm spot on at 100 yards. I get the best of both worlds.

Boy it sure looks adjustable. Online pictures show a flat heat screw for windage under the rear sight window. You sure the rear sight screw doesn't allow the sight to rise up away from the frame, and the sight made of spring steel?

I took the 2 fixed screws out that hold down the site. There is No place for a spring, no guide hole for the spring.
I noticed there is a hole in the middle of the site " should be a screw in it to raise elevation," but there is NO threads in it.

Honestly it looks like they were originally made to be adjustable, but they missed a few steps in machining along the way...weird

well after a bunch of research....some sellers are calling them adjustable.....some aren't. dont know what to think.

Does any one out there Own one with target sites ?? Take a look at yours and let me know what yours are like.
certainly NOT blaming Marstar. They have been %100 percent.

I put the blame on the shoulders of Pietta. they could made them FULLY adjustable and they chose to cheap out.
Instead you get a 1/2 measure.
you cant blame the Retailers

ITS STILL A GREAT MARSTAR EXPERIENCE !!

Update- well some did have fully adjustable sites. The add read- 1858 pietta with adjustable sites ..."AND Elevation"

so they add the "and elevation" to the add.

Hows the regular person suppose to know that ? Why doesn't Pietta just make them all the same. Its confusing !

so folks- here is what to look for in the add-

adjustable target sites = means 1/2 way adjustable

adjustable target sites with elevation= FULLY adjustable.

Marstars advertisement of the gun is Correct concerning the information or "lack of" given buy Pieta
