Great out of the box non-restricted black rifles?

Hey, just wondering if anyone has suggestions on a not terribly expensive but decent quality non-restricted AR/black rifle. It will probably just be going to the range for its whole life, but would be nice to have the option of taking it small game hunting or something at some point. (I know next to nothing about AR style/black rifles :)
 
depends on budget, caliber, purpose. Rob Arms XCR's are really nice, M14/M305, VZ58, CZ858, Tavor, just to name a few..
 
when with a keymod xcr-l in 7.62x39 got the last one at Frontier firearms at the 2014 price , never regretted it , it the rifle i always bring out , i might ass well one day buy a M
 
The options are slim in the under $1000 marketplace. Too bad JRC doesn't come it to the table with a 5.56 for under $1000

But hostly fro the price, reliability even if I am not a fan, I think the SKS is a very hard rifle to beat.

Most all options are going to be expensive, I went the XCR-L and XCR-M route, it was a tough call but I think I made the right one. I have T97 with t97.ca's aftermarket, stock model isn't so expensive in comparison. I had SU16FX, but it's not what I would consider durable. Since you're looking for a black gun, and also small game, I'll assume that 223 / 556 is what you're looking for in caliber.

Humm ... find a newer generation used Mini 14? (not necessary a black gun)

+1 for the T97. Put on the FTU (or buy it with) and you've got a decent rifle that you can put an optic on that's black and NR.

I have an 858 which I just hate, even tho I installed the B&T magwell adapter for XCR mags. Just can't get to the point of liking it. Also have an HK SL-8 which is a great rifle, but up in the $2K+ price range.
 
I have this XCR-M rifle that having gathering dust for the last 3 years du to very ordinairy groupings...

I am mounting one of my PMll S&B on it and i will work out a load...

I will see what i can get in Trininon challenge out of it...
I will have to work hard to make something happen with this rifle, as the best i got out of it was 2 MOA once and an averave of 2.5 MOA.
