Never liked shooting into my bullet box, it's loud, and kicks out splattered pellets and dust.

So I followed the directions for "The Best Pellet Trap in The World" that I found on line. Pyramid air I think.

I was so suprised as was the guy at home depot that they had a whole pallet of rubber mulch, large bags for under $10.00ea.

So I took a 10" × 10" × 6" box and lined the back with a thick rag/towel, and filled it tightly with the rubber mulch. Taped a new target face on the front and shot it with 25cal NP Trail, and Diana 350Mag 22cal at about 25' away.

The pellets did not pass thru, even though I was shooting the same spot over and over, awesome! Success! Only 6" thick, after many target faces and hopefully thousands of shots I'll just toss it and make another, near whole bag I f rubber mulch left. A light, clean quiet trap, thats cheap and easy to make.

The guy who wrote the instructions I followed had success with his trap, (which was deeper and thicker than mine) shooting into it at an approved range with 22LR and 223, rubber mulch who knew....

duct sealant works very well to stop pellets.
I use a 30cmx30cm frame with 3/4in duct sealant stuck to the back.
500fps 22cal 14.3gr at 5yds penetrate about 5mm.
good for indoors practice

What I have used in the past that was taught to me by my wife's old man. Was a cardboard box roughly the size of a standard sleeping pillows. And yes we used old pillows, couch pillows or any other foam we could get our hands on. I quickly learned if you used a box deep enough it could also be used to catch crossbow bolts. Once the box started to show its age. Off to the local suppermarket for a new one. Just transfer the pillows or foam and your off to the races.
