Just got back from the border with my new toys. A pair of Marlin 1895 SDT rifles. The whole process went very smoothly but very time consuming. 3 & 1/2 months from start to finish, mostly spent waiting for one approval or another. As soon as I seen these rifles advertised I had to have one ( or two ) One to live with me on the trapline and the other will likely be a safe queen. Sorry the picture isn't better but I'll work on that when I have more time. Jim :dancingbanana:

Yes they are very similar to guide guns except for the 16 1/4 inch barrels , laminated stocks , and upgraded sights. It was a limited run of 500 guns for Davidsons and I didn't think any of them would have made it to Canada so I bought two as soon as they came out. I bought them off a dealer in Ohio through the gunbroker auction site and then shipped them to Daves Sports Shop in Lynden Wash. to do the exporting after all the permits were arranged. Great guys to deal with. Jim

It is quite costly. I bought the guns from a dealer on the gunbroker auction site. I paid $755 plus $50 shipping american for the first rifle and $720 for the second one and it was shipped along with the first. I had them shipped to Dave's Sport Shop in Lynden Wash. where they looked after the American export permits for me. But first I had to get a Canadian Import Certificate and send it to them before they could apply for the american permits. Daves was less expensive than Questar but I think Questar may look after getting the canadian certificate for you, not sure though. I applied online and had the permit in the mail 8 days later. It all took 3 1/2 months start to finish and the guns ended up costing $ 1300 canadian each. Dave's Sport Shop was great to deal with and if I did it again they would be my first choice. We made a trip down to thier store and then they brought the guns to the border and checked them through the american side while I started the process on the canadian side. Then they brought them to me on the canadian side and the whole thing took less than a half hour I think. Great people to deal with. Jim

Sorry I didn't find out about your services about 3 1/2 months earlier LOL. When I first seen the limited rifles come out I was worried about getting them before they sold out. The first site I found was Questar but they were closed the day I phoned and then I found Daves mentioned on a website so I went with them. I had actually already purchased the rifles and did not want to wait any longer to have them shipped. I paid $250 for the first rifle and $100 for the second plus I paid $50 for them to bring them to me at the canada side of the border crossing. I'm sure mailing them up may have been cheaper but the wife and I used it as an excuse to take an overnight trip out of town. Even had a good meal and some cold beer. Had I known about your services you would have heard from me but now I have my guns and I'm a happy camper. Thanks for the info. Jim

Are they 16 1/4 " 45/70 s .They look sweet. A friend was looking into buying one just like them.

Budweiser2 they are 16 1/4 inches. Some may say not a huge difference from the 18 inch guide gun but I like it better and I had priced laminate stocks and better sights for my guide gun and this was just the better way to go. Jim
