I am looking to get a good bore sighter and it seems some of the newer green laser beams can be seen on outside target at up to 100 yards vs the red lasers which dont seem to show up as well outside.

I have been looking at the following:
Wheeler Professional Laser Boresighter ($149.00) which is magnetically attached http://www.cabelas.com/boresighters-wheeler-laser-boresighter-1.shtml
Some reviews says they cant see it during mid day sun but like it

SiteLite SL-500 ($219) http://www.cabelas.com/product/748956.uts?WT.tsrc=CRR&WT.mc_id=crrdtfd
What I like about this one is it has a guide that goes into the bore plus being magnetic so I think it may be more centered when attached. I like the fact that you can use this one all the way up to 12 guage which is nice for my rifled barrel with scope combo

I have looked at the $100 Bushnell kit old style but it is really only for 25 yards and then you still need to do a lot more at the range. Form what I can tell the Site Lite provides the greatest accuracy for 100 yards on first setting.

Any comments or suggestions from those who have experience before I begin to spend some more hard earned cash

All I know about LASER boresighting is that I thought of it first, then found out others had thought of it long before I did.

Having said that;
- Green is the colour your eyes can see best.
- Highly reflective target in shade will help a lot. Maybe dark would work best.
- Boresighting at 100 yards is not necessary, it's for a rough zero, good sighting requires using ammunition. So boresight closer if you must.

IMHO boresighting with a LASER is way cooler than practical.
I've zeroed 3 scopes in my short firearms career and have used very little ammunition in the process.

3x3sheet of plywood or card board placed at 50 yards take two shots, adjust to an inch high should be on at 100. Take that $200 and tuck it in a sock towards your next firearm.

Don't waste your money, bore sight it or get real close to start.

Ditto. Put a target out at 25=30 yds, fire a shot- adjust, fire a shot- adjust until you think you're fairly on. No need to fire groups as long as you don't flinch. Move the target out to 100yds. Fire a group, fine tune, say 2-2 1/2" high. Move the target out to 200 yds ( depending on calibre) and you can really get it zeroed.

Took your advise Ian - this summer I had to sight in 6 rifle scopes and did it without a boresighter. This only works when you are using some sort of rest system - ie bipod, sandbag etc. I Picked a target 25 - 75 meters away - looked down the barrel until I could see my target then made sure my rifle was stable. Then looked through the scope and dialed it in on the same target. Usually within 8 inches at 100 meters every time.
