Greeting from Ole Virginny

I'm retired and live in Southwest Virginia in the Olde Glade Stagecoach Inn built in 1780. I collect and shoot mostly 1860s - WWI-era rifles and pistols. Collection includes such black powder rifles as the Snider-Enfield, Russian Berdan, Remington-Lee 1885 Navy, Austrian Model 1867/77 Werndl, and Mauser Model 1871/84. Favorite pistols include the German Model 1879 Reichsrevolver, Red 9 C96 Prussian contract, Colt Model 1902 Military and Steyr-Hahn 1912. I'd enjoy hearing form other forum members.

Welcome, great to have you here. I spent a few months in Warm Springs, Va. up in the mountains. What a great state. I loved it there. Saw where Gen. Lee would go to the hot springs. Great history there. Again, great to hear from you.

Welcome. Born and raised in Ansted, WV. Joined the US Navy to see the world and they sent me to VA twice and to Canada. Found a Canadian that puts up with my b.s., and got hooked. Been 18 years.

Welcome to the forum and glad to see another southerner on here!!

Another welcome to CGN. You have a very rich and interesting area of interest (not mention your place of residence.) Mostly stuff that we can own, too. Nothing more depressing than folks going on about their Thompson SMG collection...

Don't forget to post pics from time to time in the appropriate forums.

Hello and welcome from Nova Scotia's South Shore. Our son lives in Virginia Beach (USN) and I live in a house that was built in 1783. Small world. Also, I collect handguns, some of which date to WWI. "Red 9", 1907 Roth-Steyr, Navy Luger (1917), 1903 Colt Pocket Hammer. Enjoy the site.

Greetings from Olde Virginny

Thanks all for the warm welcome. I spent some happy times in Ottowa, Montreal and Toronto almost 30 years ago but would also like to visit some of the rural areas like Nova Scotia fto enjoy some good folk music and Canadian brews! and I'd like to post some photos but can't find the proper link for creating albums etc in the user's area. Any help appreciated.

Posting pics

There's a sticky on posting pics in the "CGN Troubleshoot" forum near the bottom of the main page, ie here:
