Familiar story; grew up with and around guns, shooting, hunting and fishing. Moved to BC from Eastern Ontario in my early 20’s and ended up drifting away from the outdoor lifestyle, epically after my FAC became “outdated”, my old Ontario hunting license was lost and the National Gun Registry came in. Over 12 years later my interest in all things guns and outdoors is back with a vengeance! The good news is I have a bit more scratch to play with than I did in my early 20’s.

I recently challenged the restricted/ non-restricted PAL and the CORE tests. *****Warning****shameless brag: I aced all of them.

The current state of the Canadian hunting are firearm laws are both frightening and outrageous to me. I plan on joining the National Firearms Association and a local Rod and Gun Club (still investigating which one) very soon.

I plan to 3 buy Ruger single action revolvers as soon as my PAL arrives; a .17 HRM, a .22/22 mag and a 45 Colt. I also plan on buying a Browning BPS 12 gauge (the Mossy Oak Duck Blind model) and a new Rifle; I’m still undecided but I’m leaning towards a Remington model 700 VFS (Varmint Synthetic Fluted) chambered in .308 Winchester.
I’m sill undecided which Vancouver firearms dealer is going to get my business (I’m leaning towards Reliable Gun); service and selection are the most important things to me; I’ll drive anywhere in the GVRD.

Enough rambling; this looks like a great forum and I’ve got some reading to do!

G'day,
People around here have lots of good things to say about Reliable.
Enjoy the site!

Holy crap this is a huge site with lot of threads and categories. If this many people are interested in firearms I don't get why we are "allowing" these oppressive gun laws to be hammered down out throats. The conjugal partner section on the PAL application is beyond ridiculous and whats with the 28 day "waiting period". It's getting silly folks........join the NFA if you have not done so already. We need a voice before it's too late. Firearms ownership should not be a privilege for Canadians without criminal records, it should be our right.
