Greetings from Markham

Hi guys,
I heard this forum was the place to be for Canadian gun owners, and wow am I surprised by the amount of knowledge present.

I recently graduated from UWO, and I'm in the process of joining the Canadian Forces - so there's my reasoning for liking guns! Sport and target-shooting is something I've always wanted to experience. I'm planning on passing the tests and getting my PAL within the next month, and I'm from Markham (northern Toronto) so eventually I may meet some of you in the clubs.

Thanks for your time. I'm still researching whether to get a SKS or CZ-858 for a first rifle... any tips would be great!

CZ-858 would be good, but since you are joining the CF, perhaps a black rifle for the first. I don't know your time line for the CF, but Marstar (a site sponsor) has a nice inexpensive M4 coming in for around June for only $699.00.
