Hello All:)
I am a newbie on the site and thought I should introduce myself. I live in Kitimat B.C. at the head of the lovely Douglas Channel. I spend my time sailing, shooting guns and bows, fishing and just generally stumbling through the rainforest.
I have hunted all my life taking my first grouse at 12 and my first moose at 14. My oh my...that was a long time ago - I am closer to 50 than I really want to admit.
Recently I developed an interest in CAS and in my pursuit of suitable tools I was directed to this site.
WOW. What a goldmine of info.
Anyhow... I didn't mean to write a book just wanted to say hi and thanks for this great site.

:) Hey, thanks for the welcome. That was a long time ago in a land far far away. Well... not really that far away but it is a long story. Maybe I will share it one day...as a newbie I am not too sure of the sensibilities here-a-bouts. Anyhoo thanks again.:slap:

Thanks for the Welcome. I was just through your way. We did the Great Circle Tour - Ferry from Pr. Rupert to Pt. Hardy then down the Island, across and up to 100 Mile to visit family. Just had to get away from this Wet Coast weather. Is this one of the longest most drawn out winters ever... or what?

No Kidding!

I do know I would not want to be living in the lower Fraser Valley when it warms up and all this damn snow we still have on the ground - over 10' in a lot of places up in the Quesnel Highlands - starts to melt! The "wet" in the valley will make Kitimat seem as dry as Cache Creek!

Hey Condition1,

How is the weather? I go through there at least twice a year on the way to the Charlottes. Do you hunt over there?

I don't hunt, but my uncles do, I might go with them this year if I can get my CORE course, the weather has been really good lately might drizzle in the morning and rain at night every other day but most of the day its sunny :D

If you want to learn to hunt the Charlottes are a great place to start. I rifle hunt there in the summer and bowhunt the rut every fall. Love it. Best tasting venison I have ever tasted. Fishing can be pretty good too.

you better expect a message if i get that CORE done! heh :D:cheers:

No problem. Gitr done and I will give you a couple leads on where to go. Usually finding deer is no biggie...but finding bucks can depend on where you look and when...:)

If the timing is right we might even be able to meet up.
